About us
With more than 10 years of experience in Hakone, we create unforgettable surprise proposal experiences, capturing natural emotions and iconic scenery with timeless photography.
Good Morning Hakone
Good Morning Hakone is a photography service created and led by photographer KOKI, who has been passionately capturing surprise proposals in the Hakone area for more than 10 years.
While the heart of my work is surprise proposal photography, I also offer couple sessions and family portraits.
I focus on early morning shoots to capture the quiet, magical atmosphere of Hakone Shrine’s Peace Torii Gate, Lake Ashi, and nearby forest paths before the crowds arrive. My goal is to create timeless photos that reflect both the iconic scenery and your natural emotions.
Photographer KOKI
After graduating from Grossmont College in California in 2010, I began my career in photography. Now I live about an hour’s drive from Hakone, but I have been photographing here for more than 10 years. Over this time, I’ve become almost like a local — deeply familiar with its nature, seasons, and culture.
I am proud to be the only Japanese photographer who has specialized in surprise proposal photography in Hakone for over a decade. No one knows the area, its landscapes, and its atmosphere better than I do.
What I value most is not only capturing the actual moment of the proposal, but also the emotions that follow — the happiness, expressions, and feelings of two people in love. My passion is to preserve these authentic moments in a documentary style, set against Hakone’s natural beauty and the cultural backdrop of Hakone Shrine.
Outside of Good Morning Hakone, I also run a studio about an hour away, where I focus on commercial and advertising photography. But whenever I come to Hakone for “GMH” sessions, it’s all about welcoming couples from around the world and documenting their once-in-a-lifetime memories — while at the same time brushing up on my English!

What’s the process to reserve the date?
First, just WhatsApp us! I’ll adjust the schedule together, and once you’re happy with the session details, I’ll secure the photographer’s availability and confirm your date.
Can you please remind me of the payment situation?
A few days after the photo session, I’ll send you a payment link. Please complete the payment by credit card — the currency should be automatically converted.
When & how will the photos be delivered?
Once I confirm your payment, I’ll begin editing. The photos will be delivered within one week from the shoot date via WeTransfer, Google Drive, or both.
We’ll be staying a bit far from Hakone Shrine What’s the best way to get there?
